This unit explores the marsh, beach, and coastal eco-systems of Georgia's Barrier Islands. Students will understand that our coastline is constantly changing and that the marsh and coastal ecosystems are vital to the barrier islands and need protecting. It also connects with African-American history, historical and economical perspectives of Savannah, and the Civil War.
Our unit essential question is: How has Georgia's coast changed over time?
